Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
Replace wp_get_archives('type=monthly') to:

if (function_exists(‘inline_archives_get_contents’)) { inline_archives_get_contents(); } else { wp_get_archives(‘type=monthly’); }
Or add Inline Archive widget.
