- Upload ‘hide-products-count.php’ to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

I had spent a lot of time trying to turn off the category counts, before I found this. Did just what I needed it to do. Doesn’t require anything but installing.
