UpNext Reader Vote adds a small yes / no question to the content you choose.
- Turn it on per public content type: posts, pages, or a custom type such as reviews.
- Add it automatically at the end of the content, or place the shortcode
[upnext_reader_vote]yourself. - Give a content type its own question. A review can ask “How was this review?” while posts keep the default question.
- Change the default question, the Yes and No labels, and the thank-you note.
- See the totals in the posts list, as numbers and as a bar.
A visitor can vote once per post in the same browser. The choice is stored in a cookie for the number of days set in the plugin (365 by default), and they can change it. Changing a vote moves the total from one answer to the other. The plugin stores only the two totals. It does not store a name, email address, or IP address.

- Upload the plugin files to
/wp-content/plugins/upnext-reader-vote, or install the plugin from the WordPress plugins screen. - Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen.
- Go to Settings Reader Vote and choose where the question appears.

Does the shortcode work if the content type is turned off?

No. The question is shown only for content types you turn on. The shortcode prints nothing on the others.

Can each content type ask a different question?

Yes. Leave the field empty to use the default question, or type a question for that type only.

Can a visitor vote more than once?

Once per post in the same browser, until the saved choice expires. The duration is set in days on the settings screen, and defaults to 365. They can change that vote. Clearing the site cookies allows another vote. The plugin does not identify the visitor.

Will deleting the plugin remove the votes?

Only if you choose Yes under Settings Reader Vote When the plugin is deleted. That is the default. Choose No to keep the settings and the yes / no totals, so they return if you install the plugin again.
